How the estimate is built

The calculator prices your project line by line the way a Toronto production company would: crew day rates (director of photography, camera, sound, lighting), gear tier, shoot days, then editing, colour, sound mix, and revisions. Three worked examples:

Calculator FAQ

How does this calculator estimate video production cost?
It runs a line-item cost model: crew day rates, gear, and post-production costs for the Toronto market, combined by your choices of video type, production level, number of videos, shoot days, and locations. All figures are CAD and pre-tax.
Is this calculator for Canada or the US?
Canada. Every rate in the model is a Toronto/GTA market rate in Canadian dollars. US calculators typically quote USD and American crew rates, which run higher.
Why does the estimate show a range instead of one price?
Real quotes vary with scope. The low end reflects a lean version of your project and the high end a fuller scope, so the range is what you should actually expect quotes to fall inside.
Does video length change the estimate?
No. Price is driven by crew size, shoot days, and how many finished videos you need, not the runtime of the final cut.
